We were briefed with the design and development of a new website for Dún Laoghaire Rathdown Tourism using the existing website as a base for content but the new site was to have improved user experience and better presentation of information. Due to the large nature of the project and the specific requirements for layout and features, we opted to build a custom website rather than using a template which would have to be adapted extensively for use. Site speed is very important to us so we avoided using Wordpress and set about designing the most optimum, streamlined site possible while still being media rich and engaging. The finished site has got a 100% rating on Google Insights for desktop which is very rare and we are very proud of this achievement. The site was also to be accessible for visually impaired so the font size can be changed easily at any part of the user journey.

The first step was to meet with the client and listen to their needs and requirements. We agreed on a plan and set about creating basic wireframes for review. On approval, we would go about building the site.

We had previously produced a series of engaging videos which were a great success on social media so used edits from theses as background videos. We also included the full length videos with audio on the website. We also used content from the existing website along with new imagery and updated copy.
